In Purang County, Ngari of Xizang, a unique costume style known as the Purang costume has been preserved till now. The most exquisite and distinctive costume of the style is women's costume, which is designed to resemble a peacock spreading its feathers and is thus dubbed the "peacock" costume. A single set of this custume weighs over 20 kilograms and is adorned with gold, silver, beeswax (amber), coral, turquoise, and others.
